The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported homicides in Ford Heights and Matteson this week, with both men dying of multiple gunshot wounds.
The Cook County sheriff’s police are investigating the shooting death of a 27-year-old man Wednesday in Ford Heights.
The man, who police had not named as of Friday afternoon, was found lying on the ground Wednesday morning on the 1400 Block of East 15th Place, police said.
He was pronounced dead at 9:46 a.m. at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and classified the death as a homicide.

In Matteson, 34-year-old Antonio Sellers Jr. died Thursday after being shot multiple times, according to the medical examiner’s office. He was found on 21450 Main St. and taken to Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, where he was pronounced dead at about 2:30 p.m.
Matteson police were no immediately available Friday afternoon to comment.
