One man was killed and two people were injured by gunfire in Humboldt Park early Sunday morning, police said.

The three victims, a 44-year-old woman and two men, ages 28 and 38, were struck by gunfire at approximately 12:44 a.m. on the 1000 block of N. Springfield Ave. Police said an argument took place before the shooter, an unknown man, produced a gun and fired at the victims. Police later recovered a gun at the scene.

The 38-year-old man was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds at St. Mary Hospital.

The woman was struck in the wrist and is in good condition at Stroger Hospital. The 28-year-old man was struck in the chest and arm and is in critical condition at Stroger.

Police are investigating.
