A Tuesday night fire, which rekindled Wednesday morning, left a two-story home in Naperville uninhabitable, according to the Naperville Fire Department.
Firefighters called to the 1000 block of Frances Court, north of Naper Boulevard, about 8:30 p.m. saw smoke coming from the house’s roof, officials said in a news release.
Inside they found heavy smoke on the first floor and flames on both the first and second floors, which were “compounded by the presence of a large hole that had burned through the floor of the second floor due to the heavy fire,” the release said.
Crew members were able to contain and extinguish the blaze within about an hour. No one was inside the residence at the time of the incident, the release said.
