A shooting on the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway Wednesday afternoon left two people wounded and closed all northbound lanes on the roadway near 43rd Street, authorities said.
Shortly after 2 p.m., Illinois State Police responded to reports of shots fired on northbound I-90 near 43rd Street, state police spokesman Shafer McKune said. The two wounded people were transported to an area hospital, McKune said. The condition, age and gender of the victims were not immediately available and state police could not speak to what incited the shooting.
All local lanes on the expressway near 43rd Street reopened at 5:44 p.m. while the flip ramp from local lanes to expresssway lanes remained closed as state troopers continued to investigate, according to McKune.
