Southbound lanes reopened Sunday morning around 9:17 a.m. following a fatal accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway earlier, according to Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred at I-94 southbound at 87th Street around 3:16 a.m., causing traffic to be rerouted off the expressway at 87th Street, Illinois State Police said. All lanes reopened around 9:17 a.m.
At least one person died in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
ISP did not say what caused the crash.
