A pedestrian was killed Sunday when she was struck by an SUV in Libertyville, police said.

The identity of the woman, 70, had yet to be released Monday morning.
She was hit by the vehicle at around 8:25 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Illinois Route 176 and 4th Avenue, Libertyville police said.
According to police, the driver of a Honda Pilot was headed west on Route 176 and struck the pedestrian, who was brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the Pilot stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
