West Dundee conducting special census through March

A special census is underway in West Dundee now through March in taking place now through March to determine how much the village population has grown since the 2020 U.S. Census.

Officials believe there has been significant growth, and the new number could make the village eligible for additional state and federal funding for such things as street repair, public safety, schools and other programs, a social media post said.

The U.S. Census Bureau started contacting residents in the first week of January, and reminders will be sent periodically throughout the month asking for online questionnaires to be completed by Friday, Feb. 7. Census bureau employees will be going door-to-door beginning in mid-to-late February, the post said.
