A woman was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in a South Loop residential building on Sunday evening, Chicago police said.
She was pronounced dead on the scene after being found unresponsive at approximately 7:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of South Prairie Avenue, police said. The news was first reported by CWBChicago.
In an email to residents, management of One Museum Park West, a 298-unit luxury condominium residence, called the death an “isolated incident.”
“We want you to be aware that there is an on-going police investigation at OMPW, but we’ve been assured by the Chicago Police Department (CPD) that there is no threat or potential harm to any residents or the building,” the email said to residents.
Detectives are conducting a death investigation. Autopsy results are pending.
