A South Side man found unresponsive in Lake Michigan off of the 31st Street Harbor Dock has died, authorities said Saturday.
The victim was discovered and rescued around 4:32 a.m. near 3100 South Erickson Drive, at the 31st Street Harbor Dock E in the Douglas neighborhood.

The victim, identified as Eric C. Johnson, 37, of the city’s Woodlawn neighborhood, was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
The incident is currently being investigated.
And, in what police are so far categorizing as an unrelated incident, CPD’s marine unit resumed its search Saturday for a missing individual.
That man was one of 16 people on a boat that capsized near 31st Street Beach. Three other individuals who were on the boat were taken to Insight Hospital and listed in good condition.
