Music headliners for this summer’s Taste of Chicago will include rapper CeeLo Green, regional Mexican music trio Yahritza y Su Esencia and Australian alt-rockets Atlas Genius, according to an announcement Friday by Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

The 2024 edition of Taste of Chicago runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 6-8 in Grant Park near Buckingham Fountain, at the intersection of Jackson and Columbus Drives, with music on two stages and events by SummerDance. In addition, neighborhood Taste events continue this weekend, from noon to 9 p.m. July 27 in Marquette Park (6743 S. Kedzie Ave), and then from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 in Pullman Park (11101 S. Cottage Grove Ave.), both with music and food vendors.

Admission, as always, is free and there are no food tickets again this year. Expect some 40 food vendors in Grant Park, plus about a dozen food trucks, and all will accept cash and/or credit.

Participating restaurants include 90 Miles Cuban Café, African Food Palace, Arepa George, Arun’s Thai Restaurant, Badou Senegalese Cuisine, Banato, Billy Goat Tavern, BJ’s Market & Bakery, Chicago Eats Market, Chicago’s Doghouse, Churro Factory (Xurro), Connie’s Pizza, Cumin Club Indian Kitchen, Donut Dudes, Doom Street Eats, Eli’s Cheesecake, Esperanza Kitchen Delights, Franco’s Ristorante, Frannie’s Café, Gaby’s Funnel Cakes, Harold’s Chicken, JJ Thai Street Food, Josephine’s Cooking, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, Mano Modern Café, Moore Poppin Chicago Gourmet Popcorn, Oooh Wee It Is Restaurant, Ponce Restaurant, Porkchop, Robinson’s No. 1 Ribs, Sapori Trattoria, Seoul Taco, Star of Siam Thai Restaurant, Tacotlán, Tandoor Char House, The Original Rainbow Cone, Sole Ingredient Catering, Yum Dum, Yvolina’s Tamales and Zeitlin’s Delicatessen.
