“Our goal for the annual Transportation Construction Program is to maintain or improve the safety and accessibility of our roads in a comprehensive and cost-effective manner,” DuPage County Board Transportation Committee Chair Mary FitzGerald Ozog said in a news release.

“Our larger projects aim to reduce the congestion, ensure the state of good repair of our capital facilities, and improve the overall mobility for residents, workers and visitors in DuPage County.”

In 2023, the county dedicated more than $327 million in federal and county funds to be spent over five years for road safety and congestion projects, including $32 million for bridge repair, $50 million on repavement, and an undisclosed amount for construction of a new highway maintenance facility, according to the release.
