Chicago forecast: Sunny and windy Tuesday, highs in mid-50s

National Weather Service officials were expecting a sunny Tuesday with temperatures reaching into the mid-50s and wind gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 55 degrees, but windy with southwest winds between 20 to 30 mph. Gust may reach up to 40 mph, officials said.

Tuesday night, conditions are expected to be mostly clear with temperatures dropping to the low 30s. Winds are expected to shift to the northwest at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts tapering to 25 mph, officials said.

Morning conditions at Chicago’s airports were mostly cloudy at 31 degrees.
