
Dominican University will recognize Marty and Mary Lou Noll and W.S. Darley and Co. at the annual “Trustee Benefit Concert” this spring, officials announced in a news release.
According to the release, the event in River Forest raises scholarship funds for Dominican students.
“Students come to Dominican because of its strong academic programs and the embracing, relationship-centered support it provides students every step of the way. Many are the first in their family to go to college,” officials stated in the release.
Tom and Deb Abrahamson will chair this year’s benefit, scheduled for May 9, and Eugene and Clare “Sistie” McEnery will serve as honorary co-chairs, the release states.
“Over two-thirds of Dominican undergraduates work or support their families while completing their studies. The benefit provides much-needed financial support that goes directly to student scholarships,” officials stated in the release.
W.S. Darley and Co. will receive the inaugural Pillars Award, which recognizes an organization that represents and complements the four Dominican pillars of faith, study, community and service, the release states.
“Darley – a four-generation, family-owned and -operated company headquartered in Itasca – provides the highest levels of quality, integrity and service to first responders, the military and educators,” officials stated in the release.
Jeanne Morrissy Darley (class of 1950) and her children Mary Darley-Mattio (classes of 1988, 1999 and 2005), Stephen Darley (class of 1982) and Peter Darley (class of 1989) are alums of Rosary College/Dominican University, the release states.
According to the release, Jeanne Morrissy Darley’s son Paul Darley, president of W.S. Darley and Co., is a member of Dominican’s board.
Marty and Mary Lou Noll will be honored with the inaugural Heart of Dominican Award, which recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly over time to both the university and the surrounding community, the release states.
Officials stated in the release that the Nolls have supported civic and philanthropic causes for decades, advocating for Dominican and numerous organizations in Oak Park, River Forest and neighboring aeas.
“Their devotion to mission, education and ensuring a vibrant network of support for so many is a lived example of Dominican’s motto of Caritas in action,” officials stated in the release.
After the reception, there will be a performance by Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience, a trio of brothers led by Billy McGuigan, the release states.

According to Dominican University’s website, Yesterday and Today asks attendees prior to the show to fill out request cards with their name, their favorite Beatles song and why they chose that song.
