Charges are pending against two people involved in an incident in Merrillville where shots were fired
Officers were sent around 8 p.m. Feb. 11 to The Ridge apartment complex on Cleveland Street for shots fired, Merrillville Police spokesman Cmdr. Derek Diehl said in a release. They arrived and immediately heard multiple gunshots fired from the rear of one of the buildings, he said.
An officer observed “an armed individual” who, once they saw the officers, fired off another shot before running to hide in the building, Diehl said.
Officers secured the area, and once investigators secured a warrant, they arrested two people involved, Diehl said.
No one was injured in the incident.
