La Grange Park residents in the area around 31st Street between Homestead Avenue and Barnsdale Road have recently been getting a little nervous — and a lot angry — over what was some ear-shattering blasting in the Village.
More than 30 residents called in to La Grange Park Police recently to complain about what sounded like many to be unusually loud booms or motor-style fireworks.
As it turned out, it was only loud fireworks, so residents could rest easy that they weren’t actually under attack.
On Jan. 2 La Grange Park Police arrested Kyle Grube, 30, of the 1500 block of 60th Court, Cicero.
Grube was charged with one count of disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor, one count of obstructing an police officer, a class A misdemeanor, and violating a Village fire works ordinance.
He was charged at the La Grange Park Police Department, 447 N. Catherine Ave., and released under the Illinois Pre Trial Fairness Act, which went into effect in 2023.
Grube was assigned a court date of Feb. 14 in the Maybrook Courthouse, 1500 Maybrook Drive, Maywood.
Grube was the only one charged in the incident and there is no danger to the community, police said.
