The Norridge Village Board has sent a developer to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a public hearing and recommendation on a request to build a drive-through Dunkin at Lawrence and Ozanam avenues.
Haresh Patel needs a special use permit to redevelop two parcels at 4750 N. Ozanam and 7801 W. Lawrence into a drive-through Dunkin donut and coffee shop. Patel is also requesting a variation allowing the store to provide parking less than 30 feet from residential property.
The Jan. 9 zoning hearing will be advertised and open to the public, said Trustee Jack Bielak, chairman of the Village Board’s Law & Ordinance & Economic Development Committee.
“We sent it to the Zoning Board to be heard,” Bielak said. “They will look at their findings and make a recommendation to the Village Board.”
Current parking regulations prohibit business, commercial and manufacturing districts from establishing parking within 30 feet of a residential district. Patel is asking that the Dunkin parking at 4750 N. Ozanam be permitted nine feet away from a residential district.
