The Swallow Cliff Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented one of its two DAR Community Service Awards to the Maddog Strong Foundation.

The foundation was started by Cyndi Grobmeier to honor the memory of her 18-year-old daughter, Maddie, who died after what was thought to be a severe asthma attack one day after her birthday. Maddie was an advocate of organ donation, and her mother started the Maddog Foundation nonprofit in 2019 to “help our younger generation redefine organ donation advocacy,” Grobmeier stated in a news release.

“We believe that by sharing real, factual information with teens and young adults, they will make an educated and informed decision about organ and tissue donation,” she said.

The Swallow Cliff DAR organization will present its second Community Service Award in December.
