ECC program to explore history of Israel/Palestine
Elgin Community College is holding a free, public program Thursday on the history of the conflict in Israel and Palestine.
“Understanding Conflict: Israel and Palestine. How Did We Get Here?” will start at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom at elgin-edu.zoom.us/j/93301049189#success.
The program is sponsored by the ECC Global/International Studies Taskforce and will be led by ECC history professor Vincent Gaddis.
It will explore the historical context surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, focusing on the relationship between the two parties since 1948, an ECC news release said. Gaddis will examine how this context played a role in the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas and the subsequent Israeli response.

The banners are displayed alphabetically by last name, and each features an image of the veteran. They will remain on display through November, a news release said.
