Our family would be remiss without sharing our gratitude to the Boy Scouts at Elizabeth Seton Church in Orland Hills.

Apparently their labor of love was making full size patriotic fleece blankets for hospice patients. Credit must also be given to Kerry Funeral Home in Palos Heights for their compassion with our family.

Since Marge Curtis, my sister, closed those beautiful eyes on Sept. 11, that blanket will always be a special endearing memory. That singular treasure is the definition of closure.

Next election is our last chance

If you have voted in past elections in Illinois, you realize that it didn’t matter who you voted for, it would not effect the results. If your candidate won, you would soon be disappointed. Maybe you didn’t vote any more after that.

The election coming up is different. It will determine whether we will have a constitutional republic or a socialist/communist government. Will local governments in Illinois continue their dominance or not? It might be our last chance.
