A 32-year-old Bridgeview man faces reckless homicide charges after a multivehicle crash early Sunday killed 40-year-old Burley E. Patterson and injured three others in Palos Hills.
Palos Hills police responded at 12:23 a.m. Sunday to the 10900 block of Southwest Highway, and said Daniel Swan attempted to leave the scene by foot but was taken into custody.
Patterson was found unconscious and burned in one of the vehicles, according to court documents. Three other victims are listed, one of whom suffered a broken leg while two others were still in critical condition as of Wednesday.
Swan, whose mug shot was taken from a hospital bed, also faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving in the wrong lane and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Bond was set at $80,000 during a hearing Tuesday, police said.
