Crete

ILLEGAL GUN: A Crete teen charged with having a loaded gun in a car July 23 is scheduled to return to Will County circuit court Aug. 14, according to court records. Police arrested Israel S. Milton, 19, 800 block of Huntley Woods Court, after recovering the gun during a traffic stop at an undisclosed location, court records show. At 19, Milton is two years too young to qualify for the required firearm owner’s identification and concealed carry license, according to state statutes.

Homewood

ARMED ROBBERY: Raul Deleon, 31, New York, was charged with armed robbery June 23 in the 18200 block of Harwood Avenue after stealing a package from a delivery driver while brandishing a knife, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Augustus Wright, 34, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after an officer recovered a stolen loaded handgun from the vehicle during a July 4 traffic stop in the 18300 block of Governors Highway, police said.

FRAUD: Johnnie Hubbard, 55, Highland Park, Michigan, was arrested and charged with four counts of possessing fraudulent identification July 10 at an undisclosed store in the 17900 block of Halsted Street after trying to buy merchandise selling for $2,775 with a bogus ID card, police said.

Monee

VIOLENT OFFENDER: A Monee man convicted of first-degree murder in Cook County decades ago was booked into the Will County jail July 26 for failing to register as a violent offender, according to sheriff’s records online. Andre T. Barr, 50, 26700 block of Anna Lane, Monee, “failed to maintain accurate registration records as required by law,” according to Illinois State Police records online. Barr was convicted of killing a 28-year-old man, according to state records. He was paroled in 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records online.

DUI CRASH: Brandon L. Cunningham, 47, undisclosed address, Monee, is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 23 in Will County circuit court on a charge of drunken driving, according to court records online. Cunningham hit a parked car in the 5600 block of Court Street around 12:15 a.m. July 24 while intoxicated, police said.

New Lenox

STORE BURGLARY: Three Waco, Texas men accused of burglarizing a cellphone store Saturday were scheduled to appear in Will County circuit court Wednesday, according to sheriff’s records online. Terrell I. Edwards, 29, Jonathan L. Jones, 25, and Recoe Patterson, 28, are each accused of burglary, criminal damage to property and possessing stolen property, according to police. The trio broke into the AT&T Store, 701 E. Lincoln Highway, stealing cash and electronic equipment after first forcing their way into an adjacent storefront under construction, police said. Bond was set Sunday at $150,000 for Edwards, $100,000 for Patterson and $50,000 for Jones, according to sheriff’s records.

DUI CRASH: Aldred E. Ryl-Kuchar, 56, 8000 block of Saddlebred Court, Frankfort, is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 25 in Will County circuit court on charges of drunken driving, improper lane use, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, driving without insurance and illegally transporting alcohol, according to Will County circuit court records online. Ryl-Kuchar and the other driver were transported from the two-vehicle crash at 1:35 a.m. July 27 on Lincoln Highway/Maple Street at Cedar Road to a hospital, police said.

SHOPLIFTING SENTENCE: Brian A. Bice, 46, Merrillville, Indiana, was sentenced to 180 days in jail with a 24-month probationary period Monday after pleading guilty to retail theft of merchandise selling for more than $300 in March 2022, according to Will County circuit court records online. In a related action, the court dismissed two counts of burglary, according to court records.

Orland Park

MAIL BURGLARY: The U.S. Postal Inspection Office is investigating the theft of mail from a post office mailbox at the Orland Park post office, 9500 W. 144th Place, between 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Monday. Police say a reciprocating saw was used to cut open the box.

ILLEGAL GUN: A Chicago couple were arrested on gun charges during a July 14 traffic stop in the 8800 block of 159th Street for illegally tinted windows, police said. Malik H. Mitchell, 23, Chicago, is charged with being a felon illegally possessing a firearm and Selena Jackson-Arteaga, 27, Chicago, was arrested and accused of unlawful use of a weapon without a concealed carry license, police said. Officers recovered a 9 mm handgun from Jackson-Arteaga’s purse and a 9 mm handgun from the glove box after learning she had the weapon, police said. Each gun was loaded with 15 bullets and had a bullet chambered, police said.

DROWSY DRIVER: A motorist awakened from his nap at the wheel paused to eat a piece of wedding cake before exiting for a field-sobriety test July 22 at 143rd Street and Wolf Road, police said. Keith M. Hilary, 48, was ultimately arrested and accused of drunken driving and illegally stopping in the roadway during the 11:41 p.m. interaction, police said. Hilary said he was coming from a wedding reception, police said.

PAROLE VIOLATION: Convicted armed robber Richard E. Hill was taken into custody July 23 on an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant, police said. Hill, 44, of the 14500 block of Hamlin Avenue, Midlothian, was in the 10300 block of 151st Street to meet his girlfriend at the time of his arrest, police said. Hill was sentenced in Cook County court in 2013 to 12 years in prison on the Class X felony, according to IDOC records online.

Palos Heights

IDENTITY THEFT: Bobby G. Westbrook III, 25, 9400 block of Ridgeland Avenue, Chicago Ridge, was charged with identity theft July 22 after attempting to cash altered cashier’s checks at an undisclosed bank in the 7100 block of 127th Street, police said.

Palos Hills

DUI CRASH: Renata Jancekova, 49, 11100 block of 84th Avenue, Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of drunken driving and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision during a July 18 crash investigation in the 8800 block of 103rd Street, police said.

Steger

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Louis J. Debs, 54, first block of West 34th Street, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault July 26 at a business in that block, police said. Debs went to the business and yelled threats at the proprietor while wielding a knife, police said.

WRONG WAY: A motorist who took offense at being told he was driving the wrong way in the 3700 block of Union Avenue July 24 threatened the directions giver with what appeared to be a handgun, police said.

CAR RECOVERED: Officers responding July 24 to a report that a tow-truck driver had dropped a Mercedes-Benz in the median in the 1000 block of Sauk Trail determined the abandoned vehicle had been stolen from Chicago.
