The Community Star prints adoptable pet information weekly. Area shelters, rescues and foster groups can send contact information along with jpg photos of available pets — using Pets of the Week in the subject line — to news editor Paul Eisenberg at [email protected].

Sunny is a super cool dog who loves to play and get attention. He's not just fun, but he's smart too. This boy knows his basic commands and can certainly learn a lot more. He would prefer a shepherd experienced home with no small kiddos!

Meet Homer, a cool shepherd mix. Homer was left alone in a home after his owners moved out. He's a super nice guy who's hoping to never be left behind again. Homer is young and eager to learn. He's happy to say hello to everyone he meets.

Marge is a 3-year-old female terrier mix who is 54 pounds, calm, well-behaved and good on a leash. She is crate trained and potty-trained. She loves pets and attention and enjoys her time spent with staff and volunteers. Marge is not always fond of other animals and would do best as the only pet in a home.
