NOW chapter president smears Moms for America

People like the Illinois chapter president of the National Organization of Women, who criticized Will County for considering a resolution to recognize Moms for America

, (Naperville Sun Letters to the Editor, June 18) use innuendo, half-truths, guilt by association of “some people” or disinformation to smear organizations that, in a free society, advocate for ideas with which they disagree. They cry racism, homophobe, transphobe to silence opposing views. They do not challenge based on content or specifics.

Moms for America advocate promoting principles of liberty and virtues in the home and family through the women and mothers of America per their website. They apparently prefer education rather than indoctrination in public schools. As to banning books, they have wanted to remove age-inappropriate material from school libraries. That is NOT book banning.

I would have been disgusted with the Will County Board members had they not removed other planned recognitions when they removed the Moms for America proclamation since there are conscientious people who might also object to them. The board should not react to who screams loudest.

Is the term “Marxist” used because it is highly antisemitic because Karl Marx was a Jew or is it used because Marxism is a failed system that elevates no one except the privileged, sometimes most violent, elite?

I am not now, nor have I ever been a member of Moms for America, a disclaimer for the modern McCarthyites.

It is, of course, a hazard to voice an opinion that differs from the haters on the Left.
