The Naperville Municipal Band’s annual patriotic concert scheduled for Thursday night has been canceled due to the dangerous air quality, band officials announced.

Instead, the free performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, in Central Park in downtown Naperville.

Typically, the concert is attended by about 3,000 people, many of whom are older and could be endangered by the air quality resulting from the wildfires in Canada. Band officials asked residents to spread the word about the postposed show.
