The Hinsdale Village Board of Trustees has approved an intergovernmental agreement with Clarendon Hills over the billing of ambulance calls for service.
In the fall of 2022, Hinsdale adopted the Ground Emergency Medical Transportation billing process, which set ambulance billing rates throughout the village. Clarendon Hills and Hinsdale ambulances respond to calls for service from both villages, and Hinsdale’s adoption of its new billing procedure prompted negotiations.

The intergovernmental agreement, passed on June 13, “recognizes residents in both communities as residents for the purposes of ambulance billing, regardless of where the service is provided”
“This agreement ensures that both Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills residents are not billed more than their insurance coverage regardless of the community in which they live,” Hinsdale Village Trustee Luke Stifflear said during last Tuesday’s vote.
