Members of the Hinsdale Township High School Support Staff Association (HTHSSSA) and the District 86 Board of Education reached a settlement on the new terms of support staff contracts for the next three years.
The association ratified the terms of agreement on May 22, and was approved by the board of education during its May 25 regular action meeting.
“The board of education, administration and Hinsdale Township High School Support Staff Association recognize and respect that the members of our support staff play a critical role in the success of our schools and students,” they said in a joint statement.
The contract which will run through June 30, 2026, guarantees a new hire rate of $18.50 for new paraprofessionals and student supervisors and $40 an hour for 1-to-1 nurses, a medical and dental plan aligned with the cost structure in the Hinsdale High School Teachers Association contracts, an increase in the number of sick days per year, 50 minute lunch breaks, a new job category, and the rolling over of bonuses/stipends into the hourly pay rate for the upcoming school year.
“We want to thank the members of the negotiating teams for the collegiality and collaborative spirit they have exhibited throughout this process,” the HTHSSSA said in a statement. “It is through this partnership that we will continue to advance the important work that is shaping the future of our schools and helping our students learn, grow and lead.”
