
A 61-year-old man was treated for minor smoke inhalation after a fire destroyed an Aurora home Friday and displaced its residents, officials said.
Aurora firefighters responded to a home on the 500 block of North Park Avenue around 9:23 a.m. Friday after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting an attached garage was on fire, according to a press release from the Aurora Fire Department.
Upon arrival, crews found a single-story house with heavy fire showing from the garage and two vehicles parked in the driveway, according to the release. Firefighters found a 67-year-old woman who safely exited the house in the back yard and later found the 61-year-old man and a 27-year-old female who had also exited the house.

The garage’s roof collapsed eight minutes after firefighters arrived on the scene, forcing crews to fight the fire from the outside, officials said.
Victim Services was called to assist the residents who were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.
