Officials said a fire at an Aurora house displaced four adults and four children Sunday evening.

Multiple people called 911 just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday to report a house fire that was rapidly spreading in the 100 block of South Fourth Street, Aurora Fire Department officials said in a news release.

Around 25 firefighters responded to the call. The fire inside a two-story, single-family home divided into two apartments was under control within a few minutes of their arrival, according to the release.

Firefighters determined that all occupants of both apartments were not at home at the time of the fire.

The house was deemed uninhabitable, displacing four adults and four children. Two adults and two children from the upper unit are staying with family, while the other four victims are receiving assistance from Victim Services and the Red Cross, officials said.

There were no reports of injuries and Aurora Fire Department officials say they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
