Kim Kardashian didn’t just have help from her glam squad as she prepared for Monday’s 2023 Met Gala.

On Monday, eldest daughter North West accompanied mom out of the Ritz-Carlton entrance in New York City as Kardashian headed to the event. The 9-year-old wore a textured white blazer and blue jeans that matched Kardashian’s backless, beaded gown.

North hasn’t yet attended the Met Gala herself, though Kardashian was pregnant with her at the 2013 iteration of the Costume Institute fundraiser, as Us Weekly points out.

North West also arranged some R&R for the reality star.

On Sunday, April 30, Kardashian showed Instagram followers how North, 9, set up a spa-like environment in which she could unwind before the glitzy event.

“How sweet is North for surprising me tonight with this for us to relax before the Met,” the reality star wrote on Instagram, captioning a video tour of the space.

In the clip, Kardashian marvels at the set-up. “Oh my gosh, ‘Karl Lagerfeld Met Gala,'” she exclaims, reading the silver balloons adorning one wall of the room. (Lagerfeld, the late designer and Chanel creative director, is the subject of this year’s Met Gala

Kardashian also showed how North had massage tables brought in, with candles and white rose petals adding to the ambiance.

“North! Massages before the big day?” Kardashian says in the video. “How beautiful!”

Kardashian’s light-colored gown for this year’s Met Gala must have come as a relief to North: The Skims founder told Vogue this year that North complains that her mom wears too much black.

“I showed up at her school on Valentine’s Day wearing head-to-toe pink, and she got so excited she ran over and hugged me,” Kardashian added. “She opened my coat, saw the black lining, and says, ‘Mom, you’re still wearing black.'”

In addition to North, Kardashian and West — who finalized their divorce last year — are the parents of son Saint, 7, daughter Chicago, 5, and son Psalm, 3.
