You helped our most vulnerable neighbors find housing stability

PADS Lake County is so grateful to Help Them to Hope and the readers of the Lake County News-Sun for their generous support of the Help Them to Hope campaign and charitable-giving efforts. Because of committed partners like you, we have been able to provide shelter and other lifesaving services to individuals and families experiencing a housing crisis in Lake County, through the following programs:

*The Day Resource Center, which is the point of entry for anyone experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis.

*Each client who comes to PADS receives Case Management, where their needs are assessed, barriers to getting out of homelessness are identified and individualized pathways to housing are created.

*Our Homeless Healthcare Access Program, which addresses significant health and well-being issues of our clients that often lead to homelessness. Our healthcare case manager provides support that includes medical, prenatal, pediatric, vision, dental, podiatric care and more.

*Our Prevention & Diversion Program, which helps clients to remain in their homes while they resolve their housing crisis, avoiding the need to enter the shelter system.

*PADS’ Outreach?Program, which meets people where they are and offers them safety nets toward stable housing. Our staff goes out into communities to engage with people experiencing homelessness wherever they may be.

*Our Supportive Housing Program, that follows the Housing First model, prioritizing providing permanent housing as quickly as possible to people experiencing homelessness.

*PADS operates the primary Emergency Shelter Program in Lake County, ensuring that everyone has a safe, warm place to sleep, receives warm meals and enjoys respectful and supportive interactions with staff and volunteers.

Thanks to our generous community, PADS is proud to have served 1,789 people in 2022. Among our successes: 408 people moved into permanent housing, including 45 families, and 210 children. Also, 588 people were assisted in retaining their housing through prevention and diversion efforts; and 125 people living outdoors were engaged through outreach.

We are immensely grateful to our volunteers who have worked to keep our neighbors safe; to our supporters, including you, who have never stopped believing in our mission; and, most importantly, our clients who have demonstrated the resiliency of the human spirit throughout their journey home.

Thank you, readers of the Lake County News-Sun, for your support of the Help them to Hope campaign. Your heartfelt generosity supports the well-being of our most vulnerable neighbors as we help create a clear pathway for them to housing stability.
