He is not even sworn in as mayor of Chicago. Brandon Johnson will give Speak Out writers four good years of material. Too bad much will write about giving him a break, he is learning, etc. My favorite will be when someone will write about when Brandon Johnson walks on water!

It’s curious that Brandon Johnson is looking for a new funding formula from the state of Illinois for schools. If last weekend’s nonsense downtown was any indication of the kind of people that are being produced from Chicago Public Schools, somebody ought to take a good look at that and see what’s going on.

To all the people that want to get rid of guns, how long do you think it’ll be before we start speaking Russian or Chinese? Also, don’t you teach your children how to behave? It’s your fault your kids don’t know how to behave so teach them like a parent.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the results to be different is the definition of insanity. That is the status of our country’s response to gun violence and gun control. I don’t know how many people need to be killed before meaningful action is taken to reduce gun deaths and violence but we need to do better, because what we are doing is not working. Whatever the solution, it has to be done at the federal level.

Bob of Oak Forest asked about the prosecution of the Cook County employees for stealing funds from the Paycheck Protection Program. It is federal but the record is just as bad as Cook County. Look at the Lawrence Wylie case, five years. They wheel gangsters into court when they are unhealthy. Why exactly can Wylie not be prosecuted. The courts are certainly not too busy with criminals as they are all downtown creating chaos.

I grew up and lived in Chicago through all the 1950s, ’60s, and half the ’70s, and it seems that Chicago needs the likes of a Richard J. Daley. His “shoot to kill” order to the police and National Guard during the 1968 riots, versus the current “catch and release” don’t hurt the criminal philosophy, reined in the trouble making radical insurrectionists real quickly. Peace was restored and people could go to and enjoy downtown Chicago.
