Great work
Our country has lost the respect of the world, all because of Mr. Biden. These other strong countries have the US on its knees. Great work, again, Mr. Biden.
Planting trees not a school activity
Are they planting trees at taxpayers’ expense? These are home activities. My children were planting vegetables long before they were in middle school: planting, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting and enjoying their rewards. And, oh, my neighbors’ kids, as young as 3 and as old as 7, helped me plant my vegetable garden. It was a fun activity. They would come to my house daily, and asked if we could play. They also learned about the life cycle of butterflies and the importance of bees all at home, not in school. Planting trees is not a school project. Learning to read, to write and to do math are activities. Preparing them for college — which is where less than 20% of Waukegan’s school students are going — should be more important than spending the day digging a hole and putting a tree in it.
Question what’s going on
This is in regards to the airport runway. I remember a couple of years ago, we were told this was not going to be an expansion of the airport. And then we found out it was going to be from 6,000 to 7,000 feet. So that didn’t fly very far. Pardon the pun. And now, they say there won’t be any cargo jets or anything like that — no freight traffic or anything like that. In a few years, once they see how much they could make from freight traffic coming in and cargo stuff coming in, they will say the usual — “We would be remiss if we didn’t take advantage of that revenue stream.” And then there would be cargo jets landing, and that sort of thing. So, you know, you’ve got to question what’s going on here, really.
Additional signage needed
Kudos to the state of Illinois and Lake County for installing a new traffic light at Wilson and Route 60, up in Round Lake area. Problem: Going westbound on 60, we cannot see the traffic light ahead of time. It’s all blocked with trees, right there by the power lines. It would be helpful if you put additional signage farther away from the intersection so that we can see that the stop light is there.
Majority rules
Only 3% of Americans are driving electric cars. The other 97% of Americans drive gas-powered cars. I always thought majority rules.
