All of a sudden President Biden and these Democrats are trying to blame Donald Trump for when Biden withdrew all the troops out of Afghanistan. Why are they blaming Trump? Guess what, Biden also stopped the Trump wall by Mexico to stop the illegal immigrants. They flooded the United States and all of a sudden Biden decides maybe Trump was right. This is ridiculous. Can’t you just leave that man alone? Why does he get blamed for everything. I’m 75 years old. I was going to be a Democrat all my life, but I can’t do it no more.

To Tom in Burbank who claims the media is the enemy of the people in this country. I find it ironic that you either call or email the Daily Southtown 24 hours a day, seven days a week with baseless conspiracy theories, right-wing propaganda and off-the-wall opinions and yet the Daily Southtown routinely posts them for you in the Speak Out column. If they are the enemy then you must be in league with them.

Greg, Lockport

I read the article concerning banning assault weapons with sorrow in my heart, tears in my eyes and anger in my mind! Except in times and places of active war against the United States, no decent, sane human being should ever want to allow the use of horrible assault weapons in our cities! Why are we warring against our each other, our own people? Assault weapons were made to be used against known enemies in other countries, not to take the lives of our innocent loved ones who have a right to live the life that God has given them.

Joanne, Crete

I agree with Bill from Plainfield about flourishing marijuana retailers The government banned secondhand tobacco smoke for public health reasons. However, the geniuses in Springfield including Pritzker are silent on the deadly poisonous toxic effects of secondhand marijuana smoke on humans and animals. When are people going to stand up and say enough is enough? What about the right to breathe clear air? Nobody has the right to take that away from us.
