ILLEGAL GUN: Donte Allen, 24, 18500 block of River Road, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing March 14 after an incident at a gas station in the 18200 block of Pulaski Avenue, police said.
Evergreen Park
HABITUAL CRIMINAL: Jermaine C. Hearan, 37, first block of 21st Avenue, Maywood, was arrested and accused of being an armed habitual criminal during a March 30 retail theft investigation at the Evergreen Plaza shopping center, police said. Police said they recovered a 9 mm handgun from Hearan, who had hidden in a large metal trash bin.
ILLEGAL GUN: Demetrius Lane, 23, of the 9400 block of Sacramento Avenue, Evergreen Park, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a 9 mm handgun from Lane, who was a passenger in a vehicle during an April 1 traffic stop in the 2600 block of 95th Street, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: Anthony C. Miller, 71, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon during a March 27 medical call at a department store in the 2500 block of 95th Street after officers discovered he had a .40 caliber handgun, police said.

IDENTITY THEFT: Yavetta Jenkins, 33, 15200 block of 5th Avenue, Phoenix, was arrested and accused of identity theft March 30 at Best Buy, 17800 Halsted St., after attempting to use fraudulent identification to purchase cellphones with a collective value of $2,199, police said.
Lansing
ILLEGAL GUN: Darius Cortez Sims, 31, undisclosed address, was arrested March 26 and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/felon, illegally possessing a controlled substance and being wanted on an outstanding Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant during a disturbance investigation at an undisclosed location, police said. He was being held in lieu of $20,000 bond Wednesday in Cook County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court/Markham branch on April 18, according to sheriff’s records online.

ABANDONED CAR: It took less than an hour for first responders to determine there were no drowning victims after a car was driven into a detention pond near the 2000 block of Joe Orr Road Saturday morning, police said. Officers and firefighters responded to the 6:10 a.m. calls, also sending divers into the Sonstead Farms residential subdivision pond where no person was found, police said. Callers to the 911 dispatch center said a male was seen running from the vehicle after it went into the water, police said.

FRAUD CHARGED: A 34-year-old Arlington Heights man who allegedly used a Michigan man’s stolen identity to con an Orland Park dealership out of an $80,000 car is scheduled to appear in Will County circuit court April 19 on charges of possessing a stolen motor vehicle and identity theft, according to police and court records online. Patrick J. Petrillo, 35, was taken into custody March 28 in Mokena, police said. The two felony charges are for allegedly using a fake driver’s license March 22 at Infiniti of Orland Park. The arresting officers subsequently recovered checks from Petrillo that originally belonged to Illinois victims in Bourbonnais, Chicago, Hawthorn Woods, Joliet, Palos Heights, Park Ridge and Woodstock, as well as New York, Pennsylvania and Texas, police said. Petrillo was arrested in January on an eight-count charge stemming from alleged identity thefts and fraud in August 2022 in Joliet, according to court records online. He is free on $200,000 bond, according to sheriff’s records online.

SHOOTING: An argument between two men April 8 inside a cellphone repair store in the 7200 block of 103rd Street turned violent when one of the men exited and met with acquaintances in the store parking lot who shot at the first man inside the store, police said. No one was injured, police said. The group then drove south on Harlem Avenue, police said.
