When a candidate for mayor of Chicago states he will fight crime as his No. 1 priority, and that you can hold him accountable to do that, and then a voter does not vote for that candidate, then that voter gives up all future rights to complain about high crime in Chicago. A clear anti-crime choice was just given to voters, and that opportunity was squandered. There can be no revitalization of Chicago until the crime fight is won.

George, South Side. In reference to the Fred Basset comic strip, from years of reading this strip, I gather Alex Graham is in England. Baseball is not a huge sport across the pond.

This is for the Toms from Garfield Ridge and Burbank who say that Joe Biden is responsible for dividing the country. Have you been living in a bubble for the last seven years? Trump is even dividing the Republican Party. So don’t say it’s on Biden, it is on Trump. Like PT Barnum. said, there’s a sucker born every minute, and PT Barnum is Donald Trump.

On March 27, Nashville policeman Rex Engelbert, a former Chicagoan, quickly entered Covenant School. Within 14 minutes of a 911 call, the murderer of three children and three adults lay dead in a shootout with Engelbert’s group of police. As nightly newscasts showed memorials to the victims, Chicago elected a new mayor who never wavered from his defund-police policy stance. Short-staffed Chicago Police Department responses can take up to an hour. Of those 270,000 voters who favor defunding police, who will you blame if someone you know is shot?

Nancy Pelosi, with many pundits, declared no one is above the law. Kind of hypocritical when Congress routinely exempts itself from laws they pass. Then, referring to former President Donald Trump, she stated he will have the opportunity to prove he is innocent. When I went to school you were innocent until proved guilty. How the progressives, elected and media, have changed judicial process! And not for the better. Perhaps they should look up the meaning of equity.
