NBC and another major news network follow the proceedings of Donald Trump in the courthouse and him leaving and entering, but when it came time for him to make a speech at Mar-a-Lago, they didn’t feel like covering it. Once again, our enemy isn’t Donald Trump. It isn’t Joe Biden. This media is the true enemy of this country.

This appalling and unprecedented partisan prosecution of our 45th president is alarming proof positive that evil leftists have hijacked our criminal justice system. This is so wrong and un-American that its beyond unbelievable. What is going on here should be totally challenged by the citizens of the USA. As Thomas Paine once wrote, these are indeed the times that try men’s souls. This kangaroo court persecution is a disgusting embarrassment so don’t forget this!

Genetically speaking, every single person of European descent who has ever lived, has mitochondrial DNA confirming they are approximately 1.75% Neanderthal. Considering that this closely related group of human relatives became extinct over 40,000 years ago, that presents young-Earth creationists with an inexplicable incontrovertible dilemma.

The Daily Southtown reported April 3 that marijuana retailers are flourishing in the Southland. They are celebrating the fact they are collecting more tax revenue from cannabis sales. They ignore the unintended consequences. More people are being introduced to this drug known for years to be the gateway drug. It’s how drug dealers get users addicted to other more potent drugs. Overdose deaths now surpass 200 per day in America.

From day one when the Affordable Care Act became law of the land, the Republicans tried to stop it stating it was unconstitutional. Now a federal judge in Texas struck down a key part that requires most insurers to cover preventive service that includes screening for cancer, diabetes and mental health. I use the service to keep a check on my A1C along with millions of others. If the service is removed, insurance policies will go up. This is not about being unconstitutional, this is about a Black president having his name on the title of affordable care.

With the ComEd Four now on trial for a massive embezzlement scheme featuring Mike Madigan, why is ComEd spending thousands of dollars on TV ads telling us what a great job they are doing. Perhaps a public utility should be banned from running ads while they involved in a criminal trial.

Doug, Chicago

Put it on the board, yes. Neither Trump nor Biden will run for president in 2024. A simple letter from their doctors will get them off the hook gracefully. The Dems will put up another reset candidate, most likely from the past. Republicans already have a viable candidate in Ron DeSantis. It will be refreshing to see a politician running for high office under the age of 80. Finally and most gratifying is the fact that the DeSantises seem to be happily married.

Update White Sox. The White Sox bullpen is a bunch of guinea pigs waiting for the slaughter.

Geri, I agree with you about store fees. Last year, my hair salon started charging a fee for credit card use, but not debit cards. I also think that with the mobile ordering and touch screen cash registers, tipping has gotten out of hand. I preordered a sandwich on the Subway app, and as I finished the order it asked me if I wanted to tip my “sandwich artist.” Artist? The “Mona Lisa” is a work of art, not a turkey sandwich on wheat bread.

Yes, Dan of Palos Heights, mentally deranged people are the problem. But the problem actually is that they have access to guns. The mentally ill school shooter in Nashville had seven legally purchased guns, including assault rifles. In my opinion, this is an outrage!

I’m sitting here reading today’s paper and here comes three coyotes strolling through my backyard. We are in the Mission Hills subdivision, around Diego. Capistrano, Venice lane, Padre. Just so people keep their pets on a short leash or in their own yard.

Therese, Orland Park

This is regarding the recent Alsip and Chicago Heights shootings. It seems that these lowlife, dregs of the earth, morally bankrupt shooters don’t even wait until dark anymore to do their dirty deeds. And for the police to say there is no threat to the public safety is ridiculous. Whenever there is a shooting/killing in broad daylight, in the middle of a public parking lot, I’d say there’s a threat to public safety.

Joni, Palos Hills

In response to Ted Slowik’s April 5 column. I am a Republican and don’t think I am spineless. I also believe Trump would serve best by backing another presidential candidate in 2024 who could defeat cognitively impaired President Biden. Maybe Rep. Tim Ozinga and Sean Morrison did not respond because Slowik would somehow twist their words as Slowik favors the Democratic Party that also has an extremist faction.

Pat, Midlothian

Yet again, woke Ted Slowik decides to give us his leftist views on Donald Trump. When is he going to realize that no one cares about his opinion? I can’t believe this paper would let him raddle false news about our former and future president. Thank God for the Speak Out section of the newspaper. At least you can hear some logical opinions sometimes.

Tom, Garfield Ridge

I understand that the South Siders are upset with Barack Obama. He really doesn’t care about his people who will lose their housing. Don’t you often wonder how he got all those mansions on a senator and a president’s salary Remember when you sell your soul to the devil, you will pay eventually.
