Attempt to disarm
Cameo Byrd, 41, of the 1600 block of East 118th Place, Los Angeles, Calif., was served an arrest warrant on April 2 for attempting to disarm a police officer. The charge stemmed from a March 31 incident when Elmhurst officers assisted Berkeley police in apprehending an alleged aggravated vehicular hijacking offender who was armed with a knife. Byrd was placed under arrest and transported to Elmhurst Hospital by Berkeley police. There he allegedly attempted to disarm a police officer. Berkeley police charged him with felony charges and transported him to Cook County Jail.
Battery
Terrence Jackson, 30, of the 5300 block of West Hirsch Street, Chicago, was charged with two counts of domestic battery at 3:42 a.m. April 2.
Justin Stevens, 34, of the 600 block of South York Street, Elmhurst, was charged with domestic battery at 11:33 a.m. April 3.
Lashun Richardson, 25, of the 1700 block of St. Charles Road, Maywood, was charged with aggravated battery and retail theft at 10:02 a.m. April 5 in connection with a reported theft from Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., during which she allegedly used pepper spray on a store employee.
Joseph Cascella Jr., 27, of the 600 block of West Crockett Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with two counts of domestic battery at 3:34 p.m. April 5.
Burglary
Kevin Miller, 25, of the 8000 block of Marion Drive, Justice, was charged with residential burglary at 10:45 p.m. March 30 after Elmhurst police investigating a Feb. 22 burglary in town identified Miller and he was taken into custody in Chicago.
A burglar or burglars broke into a trailer belonging to 1 Source Mechanical of DeKalb and took tools while the padlocked trailer was parked in a gated area at Field School, 295 N. Emroy Avenue, between 3:30 p.m. March 27 and noon March 28.
Cannabis
Travon Rush, 20, of the first block of Poplar Creek Drive, Elgin, was cited for driving without insurance, possession of cannabis, possession of tobacco, possession of open alcohol, driving with license plate covers and driving without a rear registration (license plate) light at 9:41 p.m. March 31.
Leslie Padilla, 20, of the 1400 block of South Second Avenue, Maywood, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and for improperly tinted windows at 8:38 p.m. April 1.
Robert Harrell, 34, of the 6800 block of South Green Street, Chicago, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle at 11:27 p.m. April 2.
Karon Keyes, 25, of the 2100 block of West Concord Lane, Addison, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and driving with suspended registration at 9:09 p.m. April 5.
Criminal damage
The front door of an apartment building on the 100 block of East Van Buren Street was reportedly damaged by an unknown offender between noon April 1 and 8:35 a.m. April 2.
Deceptive practice
An unknown person defrauded Commercial Carpet, 893 N. Industrial Dr., in January by pretending to be one of the company’s suppliers.
Drugs
Anna Rukawiczkin, 39, of the 900 block of North Hamlin Avenue, Chicago, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:41 p.m. March 30.
DUI
Jorge Velasquez-Gomez, 39, of the 100 block of Chicago Avenue, Maywood, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, obstructing justice, attempting to elude a police officer, improper lane use, improper display of registration and failing to transfer title at 4:47 a.m. March 31.
Collin Franke, 27, of the 300 block of North Cedar Avenue, Wood Dale, was charged with driving under the influence, using unsafe tires and operating a vehicle in an unsafe condition at 1:56 a.m. April 2.
Tisha Barfield, 38, of the 100 block of Amber Court, Carol Stream, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and improper lane use at 12:28 a.m. April 4.
Identity theft
A resident reported an unknown suspect attempted in mid-February to use her information to get a college loan. The resident reported the attempted fraud to the bank and the loan was denied.
A resident reported an unknown suspect attempted in late March to use his information to open a credit card account. The fraudulent activity was reported and the account denied.

Theft
Andrew Brogan, 40, of the 1200 block of Carol Crest Drive, Sleepy Hollow, was charged with retail theft from 7-Eleven, 572 S. York St., at 1:49 a.m. March 31.
Police are investigating a report of someone taking a camera from the hands of the owner near First and York streets at 3:45 p.m. April 2. The suspect, described as a Black male in his 20’s, ran away into an alley.
An unknown suspect reportedly took several items from Thorntons, 476 N. York St., leaving the store without paying at 3:52 p.m. April 2.
A resident told police April 3 that she realized her wallet had been lost or stolen when she got notices from her banks of credit card purchases made in Chicago.
An unknown suspect grabbed a carton of cigarettes from Cigarette and Vape, 697 N. York St., and left the store at 7:23 p.m. April 5. The suspect was described as a Black male of medium height.
Theft by deception
Police are investigating after a resident reported March 23 that an unknown offender claiming to be an associate of her bank got access to her account and advised her to send money.
Traffic
Christina Hood, 20, of the 5500 block of West Washington Boulevard, Chicago, was cited with leaving the scene of a property damage accident with an occupied vehicle, driving without insurance, driving without a valid driver’s license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with expired registration at 10:47 a.m. March 30.
David Ortiz, 22, of the 1500 block of North Wolf Road, Berkeley, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to yield making a left turn at 4:15 p.m. March 31.
George Taylor, 80, of the 100 block of West Adelaide Street, Elmhurst, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Austin Brown, 27, of the 1100 block of David Drive, Bensenville, was charged with driving while using an electronic communication device, failing to wear a seat belt and driving without insurance at 4:30 p.m. April 3.
Amy Narunatvanich, 29, of the 1700 block of Devon Drive, Glendale Heights, was cited for driving without insurance at 5:20 p.m. April 3.
Dorian Ramos Cruz, 18, of the 1000 block of West Irving Park Road, Bensenville, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and improper lane use at 4:24 p.m. April 4.
Gerardo Mancera Aguiler, 32, of the 1000 block of David Drive, Bensenville, was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license and improperly tinted windows at 6:46 p.m. April 4.
Ingrid Sanchez Arbel, 39, of the 200 block of South Maplewood Avenue, Northlake, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and improper lane use at 8:33 p.m. April 4.
Jonathan Martin, 29, of the 100 block of South York Road, Bensenville, was cited for driving without insurance at 4:40 p.m. April 5.
