
The incumbent board president in Thornton Township High School District 205 remains in a close race to keep her seat Wednesday, according to unofficial election results.
In the race for three seats in the Harvey-based district, incumbent board President Nina Graham and Kara Ellen Davis each had about 16% of the vote, while Stafford Owens led with 18.56% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Cook County clerk’s office. But candidate Sherry Jackson also 16% of the vote, just 5 votes behind Davis and 18 votes behind Graham.
Official results will not be known for a couple weeks as election authorities await mail-in ballots and other votes.

Incumbent Annette Whittington in District 205 received 13.9% of the vote, followed by candidates Samir Vohra with 11% and Donkor Parker with 8%.
Andrea Bonds, president of the Rich Township High School District 227 Board, and member Randy Alexander were among seven running for three seats. Bonds voted with the majority in 2019 when the board decided 4-3 to close Rich East High School, while Alexander voted against closing the closing.
Bonds had 21.3% of the vote, according to preliminary unofficial results Tuesday, followed by Kristine Rucker-Morrow and Lamekia Davis, each with about 15.5% of the vote. Trailing them were Mason B. Newell with 14.19%, Alexander and Keith White at just over 13%, and Shagmond Lowery at just below 8%.
For the four seats on the Bremen High School District 228 Board, incumbent Mark Johnson trailed by 100 votes, according to unofficial results, with 17.8% of the vote. Vote leaders Tuesday were incumbent Kristine Resler with 22.38%, Tiffeny Lott at 21.47%, incumbent Terrence J. “T.J.” Whittington at 20%, and Marquita Marshall Motley with 18.36%.
Voters in Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233 had five candidates seeking four seats, and unofficial results show Beth Larocca trailing by a wide margin with 15.9% of the vote. Incumbents Pam Jackson had 23.9% of the vote Gerald Pauling had 21.5%, followed by Nathan Legardy with 19.6% and Christopher Riedel at 19%.
The four incumbents appeared to be reelected in Lemont High School District 210 with Renee Koehler, Pamela Driscoll and Beverly Marzec with more than 15% of the vote each and Gary Gray with 14.5%. Challengers trailed with Edward J. McManus and Lisa Buczyna at 10.3%, and both Noal Staubus and Jody Benson with less than 10% of the vote each.
Community colleges
Eight ran for three, six-years seats on the South Suburban College District 510 Board.
Sherelene Harris led in unofficial results with 19.4% of the vote, followed by current board Chair and Phoenix Mayor Terry Wells with 16.1% and Anthony Williams at 15.6%.
Trailing were incumbent Vincent Lockett with 13.6% of the vote and Kisha McCaskill with 12.8%. The remaining candidates, Ronnell “Art” Tatum, Tanjnique Miller and Venise Hayes, all had less than 10% of the vote.
Kevin L. Daly held a big lead over Max Solomon for a four-year seat on the South Suburban College Board with 67% of the vote.
For the three seats on the Prairie State College District 515 Board, incumbent Camiella D. Williams had 27.8% of the vote followed by Theresa McCoy-Carpenter with 27.7% and incumbent Michelle Aldana with 26.5%. Challenger William McClinton trailed with 19%.
Ten candidates crowded a race for two seats on the Moraine Valley College District 524 Board, with challengers Kerlin Walsh and Tracy Sullivan apparently victorious with 18.2% and 17.7% of the vote, respectively. Incumbents Brian O’Neill, who is also village administrator for Orland Hills, and Tiffany Robinson received less than 10% of the vote
