Jared Smith, who cofounded the protein-bar company RxBar before selling it for $600 million to Kellogg Co. in 2017, and his wife, Gabriella, on Jan. 30 listed their six-bedroom, 7,000-square-foot mansion in Lincoln Park for $6.49 million.

A DePaul University graduate, Smith co-founded RxBar in 2012 with a friend, Peter Rahal, in the basement of Rahal’s parents’ house in Glen Ellyn.

In Lincoln Park, Smith and his wife paid $4.29 million in 2018 through a trust to buy the house from its builder, PLD Homes, and they since have updated it. Situated on an extra-wide, 32-foot lot, the limestone-clad house has seven bathrooms, three fireplaces, an elevator, rich hardwood floors, custom millwork, window treatments, wall coverings, designer lighting, a formal dining room with intricate ceiling detail and a chandelier, a walk-in pantry, a butler’s pantry and a kitchen with stone counters, an island with a farm sink and a double range.

Other features include a family room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that access a terrace, a private office with a wet bar on the third floor, a treetop balcony, and a finished lower level with a recreation room, bar and wine storage, two bedroom suites and a second laundry room. Outside on the property is a built-out deck over the three-car garage.

Listing agent Victoria Rezin, who is co-listing the house with Dawn McKenna, declined to comment on the home.

The mansion had a $92,685 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
