Nothing in return
I read in the paper about that Vice President Harris going to Africa for closer ties. Why are we going out of the United States? We’ve got enough problems here. We keep giving money and support to every other country, but yet we have our own problems. We’ve got people that just went through tornadoes and need help there, and people that are living in the streets. That’s bogus that we help every other country. They don’t help us. We give billions of dollars away and get nothing in return.
Not a good neighbor
Can someone tell me what the heck is going on with the traffic at Howe School in Beach Park? I spent 10 minutes in gridlock traffic of cars backed up in both directions on Beach Road trying to get into the school and was late for work. Friends live in that area and say the neighborhood traffic is also affected by the way they route the buses to and from the school. through their streets. This is every day, twice a day. What if I were in an ambulance? This is not being a good neighbor at all.
Support out libraries
That was a wonderful article in the News-Sun concerning the author and people who still go to the library. Several weeks ago, Charles Selle had an article, and it was excellent, about the importance of libraries in America and all over the world. And our library in Waukegan has become a mess. Libraries are for children to go in, hold onto a book and read it. We need to support our libraries. Our mayor and our City Council has to straighten up what’s going on in the library.
Hypocrisy pops to mind
Whenever a body of government enacts a law that actually improves lives, especially those that pertain to climate, conservatives are quick to cry communism. Yet, they have no problem telling women what they can do with their own bodies, how parents can deliver health care to their children or what books to read. The list goes on and on. All of this is their irrational hope of returning the country backward to their antebellum ideals. This is why whenever I hear the word conservative, the first thing that pops to mind is hypocrisy.
