Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov didn’t take warm-ups before a January pride night hockey game, declining to wear a rainbow-themed jersey because of his Russian Orthodox religious beliefs. The New York Rangers dropped plans to wear pride warmup jerseys. Now the Chicago Blackhawks won’t don gay-friendly warm-ups for a game. The club said it’s out of safety concerns for its Russian players, including Nikita Zaitsev. Just wondering if some players not as brave as Provorov are privately pleased they don’t have to compromise their own religious beliefs.

Leo of Orland Park, your post leads to one of only two conclusions. You don’t care about facts and spout unfounded opinions or you have access to grand jury information which you shouldn’t have and a crime has been committed.

Greg of Lockport is complaining about the Republican Congress investigation of the Democrat Party’s corrupt involvement with China. Did he forget or just ignore the seven years of Democrat vindictive bogus investigations of President Donald Trump? They fear him so much they will never stop.

Sometime little things have a big effect. What a wonderful feeling to see grocery stores ads once again in Wednesday’s paper. I miss my store ads. Now I can shop around again, picking up a bargains where I can.

The vast majority of Speak Out comments deal with politicians or culture. Eventually it all becomes rather insipid. Let’s change the paradigm a little. I’ll start. For hundreds of years, all Bibles used to quote 1 Timothy 6:10 as the love of money is the root of all evil. About 60 years ago, redactors of newer versions began inserting “kinds of evil.” This is because the original statement was false and had to be changed, because the Bible can’t be wrong.

The campaign literature for Tinley Park trustees brags they eliminated the vehicle sticker to ease the burden on seniors. The senior rate is $1.50. Not much savings to brag about and not much to be reelected on!
