Wait a minute! So Steve Balich doesn’t trust the Republican candidates to respond to questions relating directly to library services and use? And his son and the other Homer Township Library candidates listen to him? How odd and questionable. What influence will Steve Balich have on the library board if that Republican slate is elected. Our library board has done a fantastic job. Vote the incumbents to continue. Most children are taken to the library by their parents who can make the final decision on their child’s selection. Book restrictions by library staff are not needed.

Dolly, Homer

Confused. A white person votes for a white candidate for public office. They are called racist. But a Black person who votes for a Black candidate, they are not called racist. Something is wrong in Denmark.

Mr. G., Chicago

Brandon Johnson’s proposal to tax financial transactions is really a tax on pension funds since pension funds hold most of the stocks and bonds in this country.

Jim, Tinley Park

Brandon Johnson’s continuous accusations of Paul Vallas being a Republican will hopefully backfire. It shows how one-sided Johnson is and an unwillingness to cooperate. Black and brown communities are always mentioned by Johnson in the debates, but not white or Asian. Chicago is rich in diversity and needs a leader who will represent all communities and not further divide.

Michelle, Calumet Park

I’m a senior citizen and I want to get in line for that $500,000 forgivable loan that the craft marijuana business people are getting. I just need it for medicine food and rent, not growing pot.

Kathy, Elwood

To Greg from Lockport. I have a question, what has your wonderful Democratic president done in the last three years? The country is in the worst shape in 40 years, highest retail gas prices, every price is way up. The stock market is tanking, banks are collapsing. People aren’t working and this is a job of the wonderful Democratic person. It doesn’t take a genius to see that this country was much better shape under Donald J Trump. Wake up and face reality.

Shelly, Oak Lawn

The Democrats are blaming Donald Trump for the banks screwing up. How in the heck can they start blaming him for that? He isn’t even around he has nothing to do with these banks. Biden does. Oh, and by the way with Biden, what about his son that he’s turning around and saying, oh, I didn’t know he was doing deals with China. Come on, man. This is getting to be ridiculous. What it’s going to happen if Trump dies? Are you going to still be blaming him for everything that’s going on?

Ken, Burbank

Donald Trump must really be coming apart at the seams. Must be in a total state of panic. He made his prediction about being indicted on March 21, and it has come and gone and there’s no indictment. Once again, he’s wrong as he’s been wrong about so many things so many times in the past. Wonder what he’s going to do when the real indictments start to drop

George, South Side

Hush money, why do they call it hush money? The whole world knows she was paid $130,000 for services rendered and they were rendered. The only question that remains is if the service as provided took 13 hours at $10,000 per hour or 10 minutes at $13,000 per minute.

YCM, Orland Park

To BJ from Hazel Crest, having an open mind is definitely a good trait but there’s nothing that the Democrats have done in years that I feel is a healthy agenda for the hard working American people. Their agenda works great for the lazy woke folks that are looking for a handout at every chance. That’s how they get their votes. As always, I’m sure it’s somehow Trump’s fault.

Tom, Garfield Ridge

Wes cites a poll that 78% of Dems view woke as meaning informed, educated and aware of social injustice. Since the terms are undefined and sound good, it is no surprise that Dems like it as opposed to the reality that woke mobs desire to cancel, silence, have fired and generally disparage anyone who views things differently than they do. Hence Republicans with a dose of woke reality are only at 37%.

David, Tinley Park

The Biden Justice Department and FBI have sadly turned our country into a police state with two sets of rules. The $64,000 question is if they can force this miscarriage of justice on a former president of the United States, then what chance would an ordinary U.S. citizen have, especially one that leans right and may be a Christian conservative? No worries for Antifa anarchists, BLM rioters and looters, illegal criminal aliens storming across our borders. No problems either for Hillary Clinton, Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff, Hunter and Joe Biden.

Don, Orland Park

We shouldn’t blame Texas or any other state if they adopt Texas’ “Texit” on their own ballots. People are tired/mad at the liberal, Democrat, radical Biden administration. Their socialist agenda of 100% D.C. government rule rather than our prosperous republic, which should be of, by and for the people.

RHS, Oak Forest

To Bill from Plainfield Thank you for the compliment of being a far-left Democrat. I guess according to you CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC and other news channels are government run media and I guess that Fox News isn’t. They are just liars and deniers. I don’t ignore people that have a different opinion because that’s what makes America great and that’s why I served in the military for people to have different opinions. I also believe in democracy and I look and listen to the facts, not some trumped-up lie.
