The Indian Prairie District 204 School Board has approved Rodney Jones as the new assistant principal of Metea Valley High School and Barbi Chisholm as the district’s new director of middle school curriculum.
Jones succeeds Dan DeBruycker, who has been promoted to Metea Valley principal, and Chisholm replaces Tarah Fowler, who will be the new principal of White Eagle Elementary in Naperville.
Jones has served as dean of students at Neuqua Valley High School for the past 10 years and will coach girls basketball and boys football.
He is also a certified ALICE trainer, Threat Assessment Team member, and Emergency Operations Team member. Prior to serving as dean, Jones was a physical education teacher for 10 years and a dean’s assistant at Neuqua Valley for one year.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University and his master’s in educational leadership from University of St. Francis.
“I am very excited to start my new role, but I’ve been at Neuqua for 20 years so it’s a tough place to leave,” Jones said. “A lot of experiences and relationships go with me but I am very excited to accept the new challenge.”

Chisholm comes to the district from District U-46, where she has been the principal of Garfield Elementary School in Elgin since 2021.
Prior to that, she was assistant principal of Hubert H. Humphrey Middle School in Bolingbrook in Valley View School District 365U for five years and held various positions at Riverside School District 96.
Chisholm earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Knox College, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from DePaul University, a master’s degree in educational organization and leadership from the University of Illinois, and a doctorate in executive leadership from the University of Illinois.
“It is an honor,” she said. “I am very excited to begin my new role here at Indian Prairie.”
