Trio of harpist, trumpeter, singer performs in Waukegan

Lake County Community Concert Association presents Illumine Trio at 3 p.m., March 26 in Waukegan. The award-winning ensemble consists of Chris O’Hara on trumpet, Katie Lynch Koglin on harp and soprano singer Sara Moyer. Their musical backgrounds include theater, orchestra, rock, jazz and more. Celebrate spring sounds outdoors

Sounds of Spring will be held outdoors from 4 to 5 p.m. on March 29 at Heron Creek Forest Preserve in Lake Zurich. Adults are invited to learn about Lake County animals that are waking up from hibernation in spring or returning to the area during migration. A naturalist will point out sounds these animals make. Bourbon and Bonfires event offers samplings with paired bites

Adults can sample bourbons paired with small bites at the Bourbon and Bonfires event at 6:30 p.m. on March 29 in Lincolnshire. Distillery representatives will explain differences among the bourbons, which will be sampled with food created by Three Embers chef de Cuisine Jonathon Silver. Tickets: $75.
