I don’t like what I hear in reference to Palestine Ohio, the town that had such a terrible, horrible train accident. There’s no question this town is 100% red when it comes to voting, therefore both parties used the train accident as a political football. Regardless of their political viewpoints, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg was slow at going to Ohio to help the people. Former President Donald Trump had no problem getting there with his MAGA and water. Playing politics with people’s lives is just flat-out wrong.

After 20 days, Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg made it to the scene of the hazardous train derailment. He found time after former President Donald Trump was there the day before. A reporter asked Buttigieg if he accepted any responsibility for the derailment. As Democrats do, he blamed Trump for blocking electronic controlled brakes. The National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report stated an overheated bearing on one railcar failed.

Mike Pence and unfortunately a few Republicans want to mess around with Medicare and Medicaid again, like Ronald Reagan did. I got a simpler solution. Stop paying benefits to people who have not paid into the system, and I’m not talking about widowers who simply can’t go out and work. I’m talking about lazy, irresponsible people who simply either don’t want to work or don’t know when to stop having kids they can’t afford.

To Jim from Homewood, I agree with you 100%. It’s a shame the Democrats have nothing else to run on but hate and racism. They buy their votes by giving everything away for free to the lazy just to buy themselves time. Sooner or later the sheep that vote for them will see the light. Hopefully it won’t be too late.

What happened to the movie industry? The movies today are violence, too much heavy sexual scenes. What happened to movies with a story or a good plot? The actors and actresses of yesteryear were professionals who knew how to play a character and portray a story.

The Tribune is dropping “Gilbert” the cartoon strip over racist remarks. So I assume they’re going to drop Lori Lightfoot’s remarks and Joe Biden’s remarks from now on.
