The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Elmhurst

Alcohol

Aaron Hutchison, 42, of the 100 block of Vine Street, Zaleski, Ohio, was charged with possession of open alcohol in a public place and obstructing a peace officer at 11 a.m. Feb. 18.

Lance Alexander, 60, of the 1400 block of South 7th Avenue, Maywood, was cited for possession of open alcohol in public at 1:34 p.m. Feb. 21.

Assault

Olivier Alexandre, 24, of the 700 block of Monroe Street, Evanston, was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and resisting a peace officer at 4:13 p.m. Feb. 20 after allegedly discharging an air horn in another person’s face near the corner of York and Vallette streets.

Dequan Boone, 29, of the 4000 block of Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina, was charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 in the 600 block of Larch Avenue, where police responded to a report of a person with a machete.

Burglary

A school employee reported that an unknown suspect entered a classroom through an unlocked window at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, 888 N. Wilson St., between Feb. 17 and Feb. 23. Nothing was damaged or taken.

An unknown suspect entered a residence on the 400 block of East Atwater Avenue and removed a pellet gun and jewelry at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 22. A neighbor’s doorbell camera showed the suspect climbing a fence and getting into the passenger side of a black Chevrolet SUV.

Cannabis

Lorant Kovacs, 46, of the 700 block of Buena Avenue, Chicago, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle and failing to signal at 1:53 a.m. Feb. 18.

Antonio Miranda, 25, of the 1100 block of North Harding Avenue, Chicago, was cited for unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle and for improperly tinted windows at 7:58 p.m. Feb. 18.

Drugs

Laura Ortiz, 40, of the 4N300 block of Klein Road, West Chicago, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with registration suspended for lack of insurance and driving without insurance at 2 a.m. Feb. 17.

In the same incident, James March, 42, of the same address, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jermaine Anderson, 42, of the 1200 block of Crabtree Lane, Schaumburg, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and improper lane use at 12:16 a.m. Feb. 19.

DUI

Pei Zhao, 41, of the 3000 block of South Stewart Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic control signal and improper lane use at 11:59 p.m. Feb. 22.

Identity theft

A resident reported on Feb. 16 that he had been tricked into entering personal information by someone who texted him a link related to a UPS package supposedly being held for him.

A resident reported on Feb. 19 that AT&T notified her that an unknown offender had purchased an iPhone in her name. She let AT&T know the transaction was fraudulent.

A resident reported on Feb. 16 that an unknown suspect used her information to file for unemployment benefits.

A resident reported that an unknown suspect used her information in late January to open a credit card account with Bank of America. The account has since been closed.

An unknown suspect used a resident’s information to open a Verizon account in early January. The resident reported the fraudulent account to Verizon.

Obstructing

Fred McClinton Jr., 27, of the 6700 block of South Prairie Avenue, Chicago, was charged with obstructing at 8:41 p.m. Feb. 22.

Theft

Lance Alexander, 60, of the 1500 block of North Sedgwick Street, Chicago, was cited for retail theft from Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., at 1:50 p.m. Feb. 22. He was also served a No Trespass notice for the store.

Traffic

Valentin Lopez Hernandez, 31, of the 800 block of Burr Oaks Drive, West Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, failing to wear a seat belt and stopping/standing in the roadway where prohibited at 7:29 p.m. Feb. 16.

Tyvon Hall, 27, of the 7600 block of East End Avenue, Chicago, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 9 p.m. Feb. 16.

Anderson Garcia-Garcia, 19, of the 100 block of North Addison Road, Addison, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, improperly tinted windows and driving without insurance at 7:55 p.m. Feb. 19.

Eric Flores, 23, of the 300 block of George Street, Bensenville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, disobeying a traffic control signal and driving without insurance at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 21.

Emanuel Gonzalez, 18, of the 7000 block of 41st Street, Stickney, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license and without insurance at 12:32 p.m. Feb. 21.

In the same incident, Arthur Masciola, 78, of the 400 block of West Lake Street, Northlake, was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Christopher Diego, 22, of the first block of East Medill Avenue, Northlake, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, following too closely, failing to signal when required, possession of open alcohol and driving without insurance at 10:57 p.m. Feb. 21.

Andriana Huizar, 23, of the 500 block of West 3rd Street, Elmhurst, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding at 12:46 a.m. Feb. 22.
