On Presidents Day, while most government workers enjoyed a relaxing holiday, the poor victimized people of East Palestine, Ohio, were panicking with their families dealing with the horrible toxins released into their community by the Norfolk-Southern rail cars train wreck and chemical explosions. How come the unqualified and totally incompetent Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg was not there to help assist with an army of transportation specialist, FEMA, EPA and government disaster relief agencies?

If you like the status quo of your current politicians, then you should vote for the incumbent. However, if you don’t like what you see in their leadership then you should vote for a change. Promises made by incumbents and all politicians are made to get them voted into office. Once in office, you can only look back at what the incumbent and politicians promised and what they actually did to fulfill their actions. I like to think that actions speak louder than words.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. She is advocating that red states withdraw from the United States and start their own government. So she is advocating civil war and she should be charged along with any other Republican representative or senator who advocate secession. Trump and Greene and other MAGA Republicans praise Putin, which could be and should be considered treason an act to overthrow the government.

To RSH of Oak Forest. Merriam-Webster defines woke as aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues, especially issues of racial and social justice. Since you feel being woke means being radical you must be against being aware of important societal facts and issues.

A daily prime example supporting your comment is all the carjackings, robberies, shootings and murders not only in the Chicago area but also around the country. Good parental teachings, eh. Trump’s latest query is about bringing back firing squads and hangings for criminal punishment. Talk about radical.
