Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came to speak to the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police. This is the same union that does not have any African Americans on its board but claims to represent all police officers. Maybe DeSantis could have advised them on being more inclusive, or should they just follow DeSantis’ example and create a bylaw making diversity illegal.

To Bill from Plainfield, you stated the far left are trying to eliminate Fox News. It is not the far left, it is Fox News that may eliminate itself. Between the two companies that have provided election machines and software, they are suing Fox News for their 100% lying on the integrity of their machines and software. There are billion dollar suits against Fox and if you keep current on them, Fox is getting one setback after another. So if they get eliminated, it was because of a self-inflicted wound!

Mayor Keith Pekau is campaigning to change Orland Park’s government from one administered by a manager, appointed by the mayor and trustees, to one administered by the mayor, respectively called the council-manager and the strong mayor forms. Council-manager governments are more efficient, have lower tax rates, have more input from voters and city officials are half as likely to be convicted of felonies. Please vote yes in the April 4 referendum to keep Orland Park’s council-manager government!

I hope people read the newspaper and stop blindly following House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and his Republican appointees, like Marjorie Taylor Greene and others who are trying to divide the country into two groups. They want to ban books, tell schools what they can teach and change history, shut down government over the debt limit and some would eliminate Social Security and Medicare. Fox News has been shown to be a fraud about the election denial. It has become a sad, sad political party filled with liars.

She said it, there’s no denying it, vote for me or don’t vote at all. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot just alienated any and all supporters she had, with the exception of those holding contracts with the city of Chicago. Talk about throwing out the race card, she just used up the entire deck.

I find I have a kindred spirit in the comment from JK of Oak Lawn about the minor the police disarmed when he was refusing to give up his backpack with a handgun inside. I would just like to add, what would this state’s attorney say if the minor got his gun and killed or grievously injured someone? I’m sure they would find a way to blame the police for that as well.

Has anyone read the opinion piece by The Heritage Foundation in Monday’s paper? When you read all the statistics of mass shootings in California and Illinois, Chicago in particular, will that finally convince you that it is the lack of consequences for the criminals who are the ones doing all the shooting and killing that is the real problem? When are we going to demand our politicians put these killers in jail and focus on keeping the citizens they supposedly represent safe!
