player ready...The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area is holding an informational presentation about lead service lines, according to a news release.
The Lead Service Line Replacement and Notification Act (LSLRNA), which became effective Jan. 1, 2022, requires the disconnection of all Illinois lead service lines from the drinking water supply, the release said.
The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area and the Illinois Environmental Council are asking the public to join them to learn what the law requires of communities, how communities plan to fund replacement, and what individuals with lead service lines should do. With an estimated 700,000 to 1.4 million lead service lines, Illinois has the most in the country, presenting potential risks to residents, the release said.
The presentation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. March 2 at the La Grange Public Library, 10 W Cossitt Ave., La Grange, 708-215-3200, the release said. The speaker will be joining the presentation live via video. No advance registration is required.
