I am tired of people who know nothing about the Second Amendment writing in about it. The second part says as part of a well-regulated militia. It took a conservative Supreme Court to interpret that as an individual right. Interpretation of the Constitution is something Republicans want when it benefits them and no when it doesn’t, see Roe v. Wade. Very hypocritical

I totally agree these Speak Out writers who are so in love with their assault weapons ought to go to these communities like Highland Park, El Paso and others that have had these horrific mass shootings and read their comments to the people. What these folks don’t understand is the people of this country do not want these weapons in the hands of civilians. The only people that want to see these weapons out there are the ones who make them and the fools they dupe into believing there’s some kind of constitutional right to own them.

I find it interesting the village of Tinley Park and its Park District are bickering about what to do with the old Howe facility site, should they acquire it. I think the state of Illinois should build a state of the art mental health facility on the site. With the rising suicide rate, shootings and domestic abuse troubling our society, we should prioritize mental health over entertainment and profits.
